Fancy an interesting and scenic walk which is suitable for anyone?
Then come and join us on the 2010 Walk4Charity in Southport on Sunday 5th September. This event has been organised by the Rotary Club of Southport and we need your support to help raise sponsorship.
The route passes through some of Southport's most tranquil and scenic areas, including parks and gardens, alongside golf courses, the sea wall, residential roads and around the marine lake (with lots of birds and boating activity to watch).
Because there are no steps and only a few gentle slopes, it's ideal for people in wheelchairs or scooters, as well as families with push chairs. Parking and toilet facilities will be available, as well as hot and cold drinks at both start and finish.
The total distance is about 10K/ 6.2 miles and rotary stewards will be in strategic positions along the route to direct walkers in the right direction, and to provide a first point of contact in case of difficulty.
