Well done Croney!
Our intrepid traveller finally set sail on Tuesday morning after a couple of false starts due to the recent dodgy weather. But thankfully nothing could dampen this big hearted fundraiser's spirits as he set sail on what was to be his toughest and most challenging task to date.
Paul said, "It's the hardest thing I've ever done, but the most worthwhile. The only thing that got me through it and kept me going was thinking about the money I was raising and all the good that it would do."
Travelling from Dover to Calais is no easy task at the best of times if you haven't got the sea legs for it, but to take on and then complete it in a 17ft kayak is worthy of applause! Croney paddled his way non-stop for a staggering 8hrs 23mins, dodging waves and boats and arriving in one piece at Cap Gris Nez on the coast of France to much deserved celebrations and champagne.
Lynda Brislin, charity chief executive said, "I can't begin to say how proud we are of Paul and we are extremely grateful for the dedication he shows to our charity."
We'll have more from Paul once he's had chance to catch his breath and will have some video footage of his adventure to share with you also, so keep checking back.
