Intrepid North West Air Ambulance fundraiser Barry Gilmore has just completed a majestic fundraising adventure along the Great Wall of China raising just under £1800 in the process.
Barry, a Bibby Line Group employee, from Manchester embarked on the adventure with 25 fellow employees in October 2008.
Following ten months of gruelling preparation, planning and intensive fundraising the group were ready to experience the adventure of a lifetime.
Starting in the outskirts of Beijing the team trekked for five days along some of the most difficult and challenging terrain the wall has to offer. However, the reward for such a gruelling physical challenge was the opportunity to witness some of the most picturesque scenery of rural China.
The Great Wall challenge was not Barries first foreign fundraising trip. Last year he trekked the ancient Peruvian Inca Trail to Machu Picchu and raised £7000
