The uncrowned Queen of Blackpool has bestowed a right royal favour on the North West Air Ambulance.
Pat Mancini MBE, one of the resort’s champion fundraisers, has helped provide the paramedics of the air ambulance with brand new flying uniforms.
Through her charity, Queensdeans, Pat has raised an amazing £4,000 to buy much needed uniforms for all the paramedics who fly across the region saving lives on a daily basis from their bases in Blackpool and Barton.
Pat has recently delved into the publishing world, with her book, ‘The Queen of Blackpool,’ detailing a lifetime spent running the famous Queen’s Hotel.
North West Air Ambulance charity chief executive Lynda Brislin said, “I simply don’t know where Pat gets the time to run a hotel, write a book, and raise money for charity…but we are pleased she does!
It’s important our paramedics look smart and feel comfortable whilst representing the charity across the whole of the north west when they are out flying. This a very generous donation and we are indebted to Pat and the rest of the Queensdeans charity.”
The handover of the new uniforms will take place at a special presentation at the charity’s air base in Blackpool at noon on Monday 19th October. Present will be senior air ambulance officials, paramedics and Pat Mancini and other members of the Queensdeans charity.
